“When you tell yourself you can, it means work, work, and work,” shares Emelyn Maravillas. “Nothing comes easy. If you want to meet your goals, you need to strive harder, much more if you have your dependents with you. But work means work with love when Pantawid Pamilya came. It taught me a lot of things about life which made me who I am now today. Now, I am capable and confident that with the assistance of the program, and the several programs of the government, I can make things happen. I can graduate my children in college,” she adds. Emelyn, 46, a mother of five is an active Pantawid Pamilya parent leader, a community volunteer of KC-NCDDP, and an active participant of the Sustainable Livelihood Program from Barangay Tuburan, Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte.
